It might help. http://linuxboxadmin.com/articles/fighting-link-spam.php jarviser 12-15-2006, 04:04 AM Recently we have started receiving a whole lot of spam, which we manually delete. Then I am sure that the people running the major linux Q&A forums will be pleasd to advise you how to install a system that requires manual entry of a code which is unreadable by a machine for registration. You could have trusted moderator volunteers (if you don't currently have them) with delete access to threads and user accounts to police the site. You could then concentrate on the key function of the site which is reviewing and accepting bona-fide entries. For example I have spent time testing linux distros and have recently sent in four articles for which have not received any attention or acknowledgement. It does not encourage contribution though I still proudly display "member LOL" logo on my site. I have increased hits to my site through links in other sites, and this site has help tremendously, but these link spammers give real enthusiasts a bad name. Jarviser.
