Hi there! I want to buy a linux compatible laptop cause thats the environment I will have to use in my university department and I don't know whether the Amilo M1437 (very verry good specs for its price, you have to check it out if linux doesnt conern you) can support Linux (probably Suse is my option).

hi, sorry for my english... but I try to explain my advices...
I recomend you find in www.google.com because in forums explain that suse and mandrake run well in amilo m 1437g...
With mandrake you have to write in the comand line "insmod=ide-generic" and then the installation detect your HDD, and with suse you have to connect the laptop to TV and then press the button Fn+F4 and the installation run perfectly... it's real... :) !!
