Hi to everybody,
I need some suggestions to choose a very light distro for my old laptop (Toshiba Satellite 1800/314) with only 128 mb ram.

I'm interested in a "desktop" version, no particolar need for graphic tools but with an easy possibility of wifi configuration (to connect the laptop to an adsl router).

Thank you
a.

PS: my pc hasn't got a dvd-rom, only cd-rom reader, so I need also to know how many cds of that particolar distro do you suggest to use for a basic installation.

(Similar to looking for Mr. Goodbar...)

If you want _really_ light, you could go for DSL (Damn Small Linux - http://damnsmalllinux.org). It's a <50MB distro and it's creator does a damn decent job of keeping it updated, and there are lots of packages available for it as well that are one-click installs.

Other than that, Arch Linux (http://archlinux.org) can handle P-IIs and above and is supposed to be a fairly light O/S. (It's a 500MB download, not a _full_ CD.)

Cheers,
Dan
