Hi, I'm seriously thinking about getting a Dell duo core laptop Inspiron E1705 (t2400 intel processor)
http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/entnb_e1705?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
and putting Fedora Core 4 on it.
Does anyone know whether it will be supported or what issues I might face?
I assume when Fedora Core 5 comes out, things will be smoother.
I'm prepared to tackle some thorny issues, but I don't want it to be overwhelming. I might do the FC 5 Test 3 version.
Advice/suggestions?
here's something on the fc 5 mailing list
http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-list/2006-January/msg01167.html
i couldn't tell if the developer is recommending smp architecture for all core duo users or simply agreeing that it is doable.
