Every time I buy a new laptop I have the hassle of finding my SUSE linux does not have the correct drivers. On my new Advent 7079 none of the video, sound or modem work. I have a work-around
on the video which I have posted to the No Video forum, but I need the proper driver for undistorted
pictures.

How does one identify suitable drivers? I have tried the Linux Drivers sites without success, and the SUSE (now Novell) support is pretty hopeless.

Did you try Ubuntu on this laptop? Even though you may not want to keep Ubuntu for the long-term, it will at least give you an indication of what to expect as far as driver support with another distro (which is more laptop friendly).
