I have a Thinkpad 600 (2645-45U) with a 6.4Gb drive which works perfectly.
I want to install a Travelmate 20Gb drive.
My problem is every utility I have tried detects the drive as either 2.8Gb or 8.4Gb.
and all have failed to write any partitions to the MBR. I have tried adding "hda=cyls, hds, sects to the lilo prompt of the Debian Install disk, but when I get to the partitioning stage I find that dmesg reports different numbers and back to 2.8 or 8.4Gb.
The bios was upgraded to the latest (IBET54WW).
